From the Parsha

“Elijah, the prophet, rebuked his people. “How long will you walk on both sides of the fence?” He demanded. “Decide now! Either you are for the idolatry of Baal, or you are for the One Living G-d!” Now didn’t Elijah think, “Just a minute!  What will happen if they choose the first option?  Won’t it be all my fault?”  No, he didn’t.  He knew his people better than that.  He knew if they were pushed up against the wall and given an ultimatum to choose either/or, they would make the right choice.  So why do we grab for the wrong things in life? Because we fool ourselves into thinking we can have it all. All the darkness and all the light in one package.  We can’t.”  ~ Bringing Heaven Down to Earth by Tzvi Freeman
