Our sages say that the archangels — Gavriel, Michael, Rafael — they would give up their lofty station right under the Heavenly throne of serving Hashem, [in exchange] for one day of putting on tefillin… They are jealous of you who wear tefillin.  We have all these wonderful mitzvos that no angel can keep.
