    I just wanted to add that obviously a person cannot sin intentionally with the intent that he will do teshuva and not only will all be forgiven, but he will turn his sins into merits. It does not work that way. However, after the fact, if one truly does teshuvah out of love for Hashem (as opposed to out of fear, which is a whole topic on its own), the statement above could apply.
