“One who lights a candle in a room cannot make it available only for his friends while preventing his enemies from seeing by its light. God, however, did just that in Egypt. The Mitzrim were wrapped in darkness while Jews were accompanied by light in the very same setting. This will be repeated in the future, as stated by the prophet Yeshayah 60:2- “Darkness will cover the Earth, and thick darkness the kingdoms, and G-d will shine upon you.” ~ Midrash Tehillim
