Rabbi Shlomo Freifeld overheard a student telling his own son to daven with kavanah.  “No” said R’ Freifeld, “Don’t preach.  Take him with you to shul, have him sit next to you.  Let him feel your davening. Let him see that you take it seriously, that it’s real to you.  Then he’ll daven.
