Rosh Chodesh Elul!

The Vilna Gaon states that there are 3 painful days on the calendar for the yetzer hara, when the yetzer hara can’t incite people to sin.  They are Rosh Chodesh Elul, Rosh Hashanah, and Yom Kippur.
