The Verdict for Moshiach

During his sermon on Rosh Hashanah, the saintly Yismach Moshe would relate the following:

On Rosh Hashanah, the kings and rulers of all nations are standing before the Heavenly Court, anxiously waiting to hear the judgment of their nation.  King Moshiach, too, is standing there, hoping that in the coming year the geula sheleimah, the complete redemption, will come to pass, and the Jewish people will at long last be freed from the galus.

When the verdict is read that the Jewish people did not merit to be redeemed, King Moshiach leaves the Court, ashamed and deeply embarrassed, while all the gentile rulers taunt and ridicule him.

The Satmar Rebbe would repeat these remarks in his inspirational speech before Tekias Shofar. He emphasized that the Yismach Moshe knew what transpired in Heaven.  His words are not meant in a figurative sense; he stated true facts, and was qualified to relate them.

How to Act on Rosh Hashanah

On Rosh Hashanah, one must act wisely and only think good thoughts.

One should only keep in mind that Hashem will be good to us.

One must be happy on Rosh Hashanah, and yet one must cry.

Connect the Dots

Only when we see the benefit can we connect the dots in reverse to trace the sequence of events.

In fact, the Chasam Sofer says it’s incumbent on all of us to sit down at times and reflect on events we thought were devastating but turned out to be the path to success.

24/7

One must praise Hashem for the kindness Hashem bestows on him all the time- all types of kindness, the revealed and concealed.

As Chazal say (Yoma 22b) “How little does the person need to be concerned and worried, a person whom Hashem helps him.”

What Crisis?

There is no shidduch crisis.

There is no tuition crisis.

There’s a lack of Bitachon crisis.

Strengthen the trust, and watch the paths illuminate.

Hashem’s Plan

Women seem deprived of many mitzvos. They don’t wear tallis or tefillin…. However, there is a great avodah that they do for Hashem.

Every morning, they thank Hashem for making them exactly as they are, and there is no greater avodah than when one accepts Hashem’s plan.

Package Deal

Don’t be jealous of others. Believe me, you don’t want another person’s portion.

It is a package deal, the good comes along with the bad, and believe me, you don’t want their package.

Constant Chessed

Everyone experiences miracles. Especially during recent times, when there is so much strife and hardship in the world, and things are perpetually becoming worse – there are evil decrees, war, hunger, people in captivity, distress, and various diseases.

When Hashem saves a person from all these tragedies, he should continuously think about Hashem’s kindness. Anyone who can live with peace and security and has parnassah must praise Hashem.

Sigh

The Rebbe of Ruzhin zt”l once heard his daughter upset about something and she sighed.

The Rebbe told her that it isn’t good to complain, “because a sigh brings on more tzaros, and praise brings more goodness.”
