“We have no right to ask when sorrow comes, ‘Why did this happen to me?’ unless we ask the same question for every moment of happiness that comes our way.”

By the way, if I ever leave out the author, it is because the author is unknown.

Thank you. A beautiful thought. It begs the question, do we deserve good or does it come arbitrarily. Similarly, do we deserve the bad or does it come arbitrarily. Or, as a previous post, is the bad a wake up call.

I don’t think anything comes arbitrarily. Now that I am reading back this quote again, I hope people don’t take it literally. The meaning of this quote is that we shouldn’t complain about the bad. But we should definitely ask, so to speak, why something bad happened and let it serve as a wake up call.
