I inadvertently left out the source of yesterday’s quote, which was from R’ Eliyahu Dessler’s Strive For Truth a/k/a Michtav Me-Eliyahu.

      My take on it is that when you come to a new place, first impressions are important. Your clothing are the first thing people see. However, once people know you, clothing doesn’t really matter; rather, your reputation is what matters.
