A Walking Miracle

“Any Jew alive on the face of this planet today is a walking miracle. Our mere existence today is wondrous, plucked from the fire at the last moment again and again, with no natural explanation that will suffice.

Each of us alive today is a child of martyrs and miracles.” ~ R’ Tzvi Freeman

Rav Shlomo Brevda ZTL used to say that we Jews alive today are like the lonely “pach hashemen” found by the Chashmonaim, saved from near destruction, and as such, it is incumbent upon us to live and act with miraculous levels of mesirus nefesh to retain our yiddishkite, much like that pach shemen “acted” miraculously, keeping the menora lit.
