The Sanzer Rebbe

One time, the Holy Sanzer was sitting on a ship going from Vienna to Budapest.  He was so deep in thought, he had a big pipe in his mouth smoking but he didn’t even feel that the pipe fell into the water.

He arrived in Budapest and asks the Chassidim, “Where is my pipe?” so the Chassidim say “Rebbe, about five hours ago it fell in the river.”

So he went off the boat, walks up to the water and says “G-d, if You want to give me back this pipe, give it to me right now.”  He put his hand in the water and took out the pipe.

If you want something, ask for it.

If you really want something, ask to get it “right now.” ~ R’ Shlomo Carlebach zt”l

Please double check the spelling. In the Rebbis request the word pipe is spelled with an o between the 2 p. . Terrible BOO BOO. But please continue to send these columns
