You are Responsible for Yourself

During wartime, the enemy works hard to knock your sense of personal responsibility, to make you feel beholden to no one, no longer connected to the army, as if you are an independent entity.

Life is a war, and the Yetzer Hara’s plan is to get you to think, “Let my teachers inspire me” or “Let the rabbi tell me what to do.”

Stop waiting for someone to help you change!

You are responsible for yourself, and it’s your job to get in touch with yourself and figure out what you need to work on. “If I am not for myself, who will be for me?,” the Mishna says.

No one can make you great, but you yourself!
