The following is a lot of work, but if you are serious about improving your kavanah this will defiately help!!
Start with Shemona Esray. Buy a small note pad that fits in your shirt pocket. copy every bracha of Shemona Esray on a different page. Always start a new sentence at the beginning of a line.
Color Hashem’s names always in yellow with highlighter.
Choose whatever color highlighters that you like and highlight every other line with a different color.
Don’t forget to also add the paragraphs for motzay Shabbat’Rosh Chodesh, chanuka..
To save work you can add the Shabbat and Yom tov amidas after the weekday and start with the new middle section (each one starting on a different page.
Slowly you can add new note pads for the rest of the tefilla/
Understanding the words brings the davening to a new level.
Concentrate on translation of one or two new words for a week .
Don’t take on too many at one time.
Try to find Daven when you are not rushed to finish.
Talk to Hashem in your own words throughout the day every day
Just talk to Hashem in English through out your day. Its about the relationship. The text of the siddur will follow more naturally once your connecting casually.
