Sometimes things don’t go the way we’d like them to. So we can grumble and join the ranks of complainers, or we can do something different: we can try to create change.
A friend of mine was a major in the United States Army and he often quotes his commander, who would say, “Don’t come to me with problems; come to me with solutions.”
The Mishna states: וּבְמָקוֹם שֶׁאֵין אֲנָשִׁים, הִשְׁתַּדֵּל לִהְיוֹת אִישׁ
In a place where no one is stepping forward to take responsibility, you should try to be that person.
When there’s no one to get the job done, it’s time to step up.
How?
By changing your mindset and realizing that you can make a difference. You can be the change you want to see.
