When Yom Tov arrives, people are eager to fulfill the main mitzvos, and they spend money on expensive matzos, a beautiful esrog, or superior wine, but there’s another mitzvah as well.
A person has to gladden the hearts of those in his family. A husband has to make his wife happy, ensure that his children are joyous. He has to have not just a nice esrog and quality matzos, but create genuine smiles.
It’s nice to love mitzvos, but make sure you have your priorities straight.
