But What have I done for You?

The Chofetz Chaim was once overheard in private, talking to Hashem, saying:

“You’ve done so much for me; You allowed me to write the Mishnah Berurah, the Sefer Chofetz Chaim….But what have I done for You?!”

We have to realize that the opportunity to do a mitzvah is a gift from Hashem!

The Chofetz Chaim did he oppose Zionist efforts to settle Israel? He died in g’lut!

No, I don’t think so. There is a famous story about how he wanted to go to Israel, but at the last minute, he was unable to go.

The decision to vilify secular Zionism, it reminds me of how the spies in the days of Moshe rebelled to conquer Canaan due to their fear of giants. The Shoah ensued and both Britain with its White Paper and FDR who sealed the US borders from Jews seeking to flee from the Nazis condemned European Jewry to the gas chambers.

Hi. I just want to thank you very, very much for these beautiful emails. They’re short, powerful and relevant, and they lift my day. I wonder who’s behind this? Thanks again!
