The Chasam Sofer teaches: When a person thinks about Hashem, Hashem will think about him.
As it states (Mishlei 3:6), בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶ֥יךָ דָעֵ֑הוּ with everything you do, remember Hashem. And if you will do so וְ֝ה֗וּא יְיַשֵּׁ֥ר אֹֽרְחֹתֶֽיךָ, He will give you success in all your ways. For if you think about Hashem, Hashem is thinking about you, to help you. ~ R’ Elimelech Biderman Shlita

A person’s true character is ascertained by three parameters: his cup (i.e., his behavior when he drinks), his pocket (i.e., his financial dealings), and his anger. ~ Miseches Eruvin 65b
Live in such a way that those who know you but don’t know God will come to know God because they know you. ~ unknown
There are two main traits which prevent a person from serving the Almighty: anger and giving in to desires.
In the case of anger, the goal needs to be to totally conquer it.
But with desires, it is necessary to eat to have the energy to serve the Almighty and for the upkeep of one’s body. Therefore, while it is necessary to break one’s desires, you always need to keep part of those desires.
This is more difficult to master than a trait that must be overcome completely. ~ Vilna Gaon
Even if you do indeed accomplish tomorrow what you pushed off doing today, you are still missing out on the good deeds you could have done today. View each day as if it were your last (see Shabbos 153a). This is an excellent technique for overcoming laziness.

A person is much better off in life if he chooses a small degree of wealth with peace than a large amount with quarrels. We find in the Torah (Bereishis 13:12) that Avraham chose to live peacefully by taking land that had less grazing area for his cattle, rather than taking more with a quarrel. This is what the verse states in Mishle (17:1): “Better a morsel of dry bread and tranquility with it, than a house full of feasting with strife. ~ Ralbag
