The Chofetz Chaim once told a pharmacist that he envied him for the countless mitzvos he performed daily, dealing with life-and-death chessed situations. 

The pharmacist replied that it was simply his livelihood.

A man struggling with parnassah and trying to marry off his daughters asked the Beis Yisrael for advice. 

The Rebbe told him: “Focus on the good.  Make your tefillos 60% praise and 40% requests.”

The man shifted to gratitude, and within months, his life turned around.

Later, he noticed that Hallel follows the same formula: Six “Hodu LaShem” and four “Ana Hashem.”

Try to be nice to people for no reason.  If you’re in camp…go to the cook and say the food was amazing.  You hear a shiur from someone, tell him, “Wow, it was amazing.” 

It doesn’t make a difference if it was or not. You’ll make him feel like a million dollars. Why not?

You can do this 24 hours a day. And you’ll get used to it.  Train yourself to be nice just for being nice.
