Love is a choice. We love our babies, even before they’re born.  We don’t know who they’ll be, what they’ll be like, but we love them.  You know why? Because we chose to love them. We’re ready. No matter how they come out, we’re already in love.

Now…what about your spouses?  The ones we chose – and not just chose, but chose above everyone else. We said,  “that’s the one!”  We made a decision…so how can a person fall out of love?

Parents stick with their children, loving them more and more, even though they’re not blind to the fact that their children aren’t perfect…. But we love them, because we chose to love them.  Why should our spouses be any different?

The only person you should compare yourself to is the person you were yesterday. 

In Shema, we say “Vehayu Hadivarim Haeileh…Al Levavcha – These words (of Torah)…shall be on your heart.” 

Why should they be on your heart?

Hashem introduced Himself to us by saying “Anochi Hashem Elokecha” – I am your G-d. 

He didn’t say, “Elokeichem,” the G-d of all of you, even though that was true.  He is the G-d of every person, every being, every object, all of Creation.

But what is important is that He’s your G-d. Your personal connection.

He knows what plagues you, what worries you, what you need most.

Anochi Hashem Elokecha. Take Me into your life. I am yours.
