One’s success in Torah for the entire year is dependent upon one’s hasmadah (diligence in Torah study) during the sheloshes yemei hagbalah (the 3 days before Shavuot).

There are twice the amount of pesukim about preparing for mattan Torah (26) than pesukim which discuss mattan Torah itself (13).
This suggests that preparation is the highest level. As chassidim say, “the preparation for a mitzvah is greater than the mitzvah itself.”

When Hashem has given you a large amount of possessions, do not forget to thank Him for even the minor items that He has given you.

A lazy person will always discover rationalizations and excuses for his failure to accomplish.
The person with enthusiasm will always find a way to accomplish.

The gemara (Sotah 49b) states that one of the tragedies that will occur during the pre-Messianic era is that “the face of the generation will be like the face of a dog.”
The Chofetz Chaim explains in the name of R’ Yitzchak of Volozhin that if one throws a stone at a dog, it will pounce on the stone, not understanding that it wasn’t the stone that hit him, but rather the person who threw it.
Similarly, people will blame various causes for their distress, failing to understand that everything comes from Hashem.
When you master the ability to view others as they see themselves, you will gain the love of everyone.

“Those who act with faith are His desire” ~ Mishlei 12:22
Rabbeinu Yonah notes that the verse doesn’t mention those who “speak” with faith, but rather those who “act” with faith.
It is not enough for one to simply say he has emuna and bitachon. Rather, he must act in a way that reflects his belief and reliance on Hashem.
The Gemara (Moed Kattan 18.) says, there lies a power in words, that whatever one says can occur.
This isn’t only when one says something negative. The power of speech is very significant, and saying positive things can also cause good things to happen.
People tend to complain and say that things aren’t going well. They would be wiser to get into the practice of saying that everything is good. Their words can cause change for the better.
~ R’ Elimelech Biderman
One who believes everything that happens is for the best, will never be sad.
A person doesn’t harm his finger unless it was so decreed.
However, it wasn’t decreed that he should be sad. That he takes on his own…
Life’s challenges are a test to see if he will accept them joyfully.
~ The Ben Ish Chai
All acts of charity and kindness that the nation of Israel performs in this world, create great peace and powerful defending angels between the nation of Israel and their Father in Heaven.
