You’re lying in bed, exhausted, about to fall asleep, and your phone rings.
It’s your friend. She needs help and wants to know if you can come over.
You can sigh and say no. You can sign and say yes. Or you can do something more.
You can say, “Oh wow, I happen to be not far, of course I’ll be right there.”
It’s so hard. You just want to sleep. But then, when you get back home you can look in the mirror and say, “Hey, I beat you.”
The hardest person in the world to win again is yourself, because you know the truth. You know the challenges, you know the weaknesses. You know what’s real and what’s not.
So when you really overcome what you wanted to do, that’s called winning!
