Chance of Success?

Even if the chances of success and failure are equal, why worry about failure when you can just as easily hope for success? ~ Rambam

So Exciting!

People conversing in Torah are like a newly engaged young girl who shows off her engagement ring to others.  She is so excited that she wants to share the evidence of her joy with everyone.

Likewise, one who appreciates the beauty of Torah wisdom wants everyone to share in his joy. Hashem remembers these moments of passionate joy and repays man for them. ~ R’ Avraham Pam zt”l

Daven First

It is impossible that davening in shul…should cause us to miss out in the parnasa that was decided for us.  So why does a Yid go to the phone before davening? He isn’t going to use the phone to remind his friend to come to the minyan — the real reason a phone was created…

He thinks that his hatzlacha is based on what he does: If he gets the businessman in time, it will be good. But the truth is that when we first daven and learn something, and only afterwards go to the phone, that is when we get Hashem’s bracha! ~ Lubavitcher Rebbe zt”l

Quill of the Heart

“The mouth is the quill of the heart” ~ Chovos HaLevovos.

On this, the Chofetz Chaim explains that the mouth expresses the contents of the heart.  A mouth that spews venom can only be the outlet of a heart that produces it.

Distribution of Wealth

The inequality in the distribution of wealth is one of the great benefits that Hashem provided to mankind.

If everyone was equally wealthy, nobody would work and human affairs would be in the doldrums. It is only because people need money that is in the possession of others that they are willing to do things. Money is thus the incentive to doing all the things that men need for each other. ~ R’ Avigdor Miller zt”l
