Lashon Hora which is Permitted

If someone has completely forsaken mitzvah observance, or continually transgresses a particular mitzvah whose severity everyone is aware of (for example, eating pork), you are permitted to shame him for his misdeeds.  Since he has not merely succumbed to temptation, but knowingly and willfully transgresses G-d’s mitzvos, you are allowed to tell others about his misbehavior.  You should also not give him the benefit of the doubt.  ~ Guard Your Tongue

A Trip to see the Maggid

Thus did Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev journey from Pinsk to Mezritch to see the Maggid – the Rebbe Reb Ber.

“Why undertake so arduous a journey?” he was asked.

“I must see the Maggid.  You see, he knows there’s a G-d on earth.”

“Everyone knows that.  Here comes Olga, the maid. Ask her.”

“She’ll say there’s a G-d.  The Maggid knows it.” ~ The Torah Personality

2 Dogs

My inner struggles hound me constantly.  It is as if inside of me there are two dogs.  One of the dogs is mean and evil.  The other dog is good.  The mean dog fights the good dog all the time.  And you know which dog wins?  The one I feed the most. ~ Torah Tavlin

First Offence

If it is clearly impossible to judge someone’s action favorably, you are nonetheless forbidden to tell others about the sin if it is a first offense…since it is possible that he will regret his misdeed and do tshuvah. ~ Guard Your Tongue
