Oy! My appoligies

You may have noticed that the story about the Chofetz Chayim accidentally went out this morning instead of tonight.  I am sorry about that.  I set it before shabbos to go out at 8:30, but accidentally left it as AM instead of PM.   I just noticed and didn’t want you to get the wrong idea.

Don’t bother

When members of the Chofetz Chayim’s household would see him preparing a bed for a guest, they would tell him not to bother and to let them attend to such preparations.

“When it comes to the mitzvah of putting on tefilin, would you also like to fulfill it for me to save me the bother?” asked the Chofetz Chayim. ~ Amud Hachesed

I have to tell you what I saw – deep

If a person would be able to ascend to Heaven and behold the Heavenly bodies with all their precision and perfection, his enjoyment would not be complete until he returned to earth and described to his friends the amazing wonders that he witnessed.  ~ R’ Yehudah Muscato zt”l

Looking at a Tzaddik – Segulah

One need not just look at a tzaddik as a segulah for becoming G-d-fearing.  We are told that all yidden are tzaddikim.  Thus, if one will gaze deeply within himself, that too is a segulah for true fear of Heaven! ~ R’ Yitzchak Meri of Apta zt”l

Anyone and Everyone

The Torah is not lacking even to the most accomplished scholar.

Nor is it beyond the grasp of the simplest school child.

Even the wicked are full of Mitzvos

Once, during a private audience, the Rebbe quoted a passage from the Talmud that states, “Even the wicked are full of mitzvos like seeds in a pomegranate.”

This Talmudic statement had bothered the man visiting the Rebbe for some time. He challenged the Rebbe, “If they are wicked, how can they possess so many mitzvos?”

The Rebbe smiled and answered, “If they possess so many mitzvos, how can they be considered wicked?” ~ Chicken Soup to Warm the Neshama

Scream

When a child feels something is missing
the child wants it,
demands it with all his heart and soul
and demands it now.

The world is not the way it should be.
None of us are in our proper place.
We must demand from our Father that all this be repaired
and be repaired now.

We need to scream out as a small child would scream. ~ R’ Tzvi Freeman
